COVID Measures

Our number one priority is the well-being and safety of our guests and team. To ensure that, we have procedures and routines set in place that include physical distancing, enhanced cleaning measures, and proper staff training. We are closely monitoring required rules and regulations to protect you.

Furthermore, all of our staff members here at The Hideaway have received FDA approved vaccinations to protect against COVID-19.

We have implemented the following measures

Public Spaces

  • Hand sanitizing stations will be available for guests and employees in all public areas.

  • Surfaces in public spaces are all treated with hospital-grade disinfectants.

Guest Contact

  • To help alleviate the risk of COVID-19 transmission through person-to-person contact, we use signage for guests to maintain social distancing and arrange the furniture to have enough space for social distancing.

  • At the entrance a disinfecting mat will be installed and a space is set up for taking temperature of guests.

Food Safety

  • Our chef and all the food handlers are trained on safe food preparation and service practices.

  • The general cleaning of the food and beverage units and the cleaning of the tables, chairs and counters carried out properly and carefully disinfected before and after serving.

Our Staff

  • The Hideaway’s employees will follow strict guidelines, including utilizing Personal Protective Equipment, frequent and stringent hand-washing protocols, and housekeepers/laundry staff will wear both gloves and a mask.

  • At the beginning of each working day, our staff must go through a temperature control to ensure their well-being and that of everyone else.

Traveling to Panama

Last updated: 21 November 2020 (source)

Requirements to enter Panama:

  • Travelers will be required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test taken no more than 48 hours prior to their arrival time in Panama.

  • If a test is not possible within that time frame, a COVID-19 rapid test will be mandated at the airport before customs and the traveler will have to cover the costs of said test (USD$ 50, takes approximately 30 minutes but this may increase as normal travel resumes). We recommend getting the test in your country prior to arrival to avoid issues at the airport.

  • There are currently no restrictions on entry from any country.

  • Health insurance is not a requirement for entry but is highly recommended

  • We encourage all travelers to check travel restrictions from your departure country and country of citizenship.

  • Prior to check-in, all incoming travelers will be required to complete an Electronic Affidavit (sworn statement) agreeing to:

    • Comply with all sanitary control measures outlined by the Ministry of Health of Panama.

    • Provide localization information for residence while in Panama.

    • Confirm that you are healthy (no symptoms of any respiratory illness) and that you have not been exposed to COVID-19 within the last fourteen (14) days.

Is there a quarantine period?

  • Since October 12th there is no quarantine period needed to enter Panama, if travelers can present a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test.

  • When traveler takes a rapid test at the airport and comes back positive, the passenger will be placed under quarantine for in a hotel designated by the Ministry of Health. Upon seven (7) days, an antigen rapid test will be taken. If results are negative the quarantine will end. If results are positive the visitor will remain in quarantine until tested negative.
